BLANCHARD RECEIVES AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE UNION ENDORSEMENT IN ALABAMA GOVERNOR’S RACE

Montgomery, AL–Lindy Blanchard’s conservative credentials were resoundingly validated today as the American Conservative Union (ACU) endorsed her candidacy for Governor of Alabama.

Founded in 1964, the ACU believes that “Conservatism is the political philosophy that sovereignty resides in the person,” and supports the Constitution and all of the rights and privileges contained therein. Its yearly meeting, CPAC, is one of the most important and well-attended political events for conservative politicians, pundits, luminaries and rising stars of the conservative movement.

This year marked Blanchard’s first time to address CPAC, speaking on Sunday, February 27th to the Conference.

Today, April 6th, American Conservative Union Chair, Matt Schlapp, made the following statement:

“Lindy Blanchard is running for Gov of AL and CPAC is proud to endorse her. Blanchard stands for lower taxes, less Gov’t and more transparency. She built a family business, generously helps children around the world and served w honor as an Ambassador for President Donald Trump.”

Blanchard said of the ACU endorsement:

“It’s humbling to receive the endorsement of the ACU. It is a tremendous honor, and I am grateful to be recognized by the ACU in this way.

“I am proud of where I stand on the issues. I support our Constitution and the Bill of Rights, every one of them. I believe in personal freedom and the personal responsibility that comes with it. I believe that families are the bedrock our society is built on, and that children are precious from the moment of conception onward. I believe that faith in God is what gives us the strength to get through every single day. I believe that government should be limited, and otherwise stay out of people’s way. These are the things that we call being ‘conservative’, so that’s why I call myself a conservative. Although, I will say, they just seem more like common sense to me, but I guess that’s just what growing up in Alabama will do for you.

“The only way I know how to repay the faith and trust the ACU has given me with this endorsement is to work even harder every single day, to keep standing up for these common-sense, conservative values. As Governor of Alabama, you have my word that I’ll do just that.”

Blanchard has never held elected office and will face incumbent Governor Kay Ivey and six others in the Republican primary on May 24th. She is a wife, mother of eight, businesswoman and philanthropist from Montgomery, Alabama. She previously served as US Ambassador to Slovenia during the administration of President Donald J. Trump.
