Blanchard Enters Governor’s Race: “I Will Give Your Voice Back”

Wetumpka, AL—Lindy Blanchard, conservative businesswoman and nonprofit leader, entered the Alabama Governor’s race this morning before a crowd of supporters.

Blanchard, who had been a candidate for the U.S. Senate, made the announcement in Wetumpka, her childhood hometown.

Blanchard said, “We’re here because Wetumpka has a special place in my heart. I grew up here as a toddler. My grandfather had a trailer park down 231, and my family helped start the Wetumpka Church of Christ.”

Blanchard went on to say, “I lived in Alabama my whole life until President Donald Trump honored me by appointing me US Ambassador to Slovenia. It was an honor of a lifetime to serve my country.”

“When I came back to Alabama, I decided to throw my hat into the ring for the US Senate. But, as I traveled around the state people made it unmistakably clear that they wanted a conservative outsider in Montgomery–someone to put the people first.

“I do want to thank the Governor for steadying the ship, but now it’s time to put the ship in gear and move Alabama forward.

“As your Governor I will make education one of my biggest priorities.  Our children deserve our best, regardless of their zip code.  I’ll be working for small businesses and family-owned businesses, and that certainly includes our family farmers.

“I’ll also focus on failed elections. Even though President Trump won this state, we know the liberals tried to interfere in many places, including here. That will not happen on my watch.

“I will listen to you. I will give you your voice back. I need your prayers, and certainly I’m asking for your votes. God bless you, and our great State of Alabama.”

Blanchard is a successful businesswoman, entrepreneur, philanthropist and mother of eight from Montgomery, She will be on the ballot in the Republican primary election on May 24, 2022.
